MLive likes the Niro EV, but doesn't like pricing or availability

Their top issues with the Kia e-Niro is the availability will be limited in the USA. They also feel like the MSRP is too high.
What we liked:

A lot, actually.

The performance, practicality, level of comfort, battery range and silent ride (outside of that cool futuristic accelerating sound) were very strong positives for the 2019 Niro EV. While the Niro EV's estimated top speed doesn't sound like much at 103 mph, this thing has an impressive first zip to it.

Another positive takeaway from the driving experience were the four very different drive modes, with the Eco+ serving as an extra perk for the conservative driver. This drive mode limits the Niro EV to a top speed as 60 mph, and really puts a muzzle on everything.

Between the Eco, Normal and Sport modes, there is something for everyone to find as a comfort zone. Sport mode obviously opens everything up a bit more while Eco (and Eco+ to an extreme level) pull everything back a bit.

In terms of practical aspects of Kia's Niro EV is the smart regenerative braking system, which actually helps charge the battery while the vehicle is in use. The system also does this during periods of deceleration.
